You will learn about: managing responses to displacement; mobilising and managing human and financial resources; security and self-care of humanitarian actors; the impact of humanitarian action; and managing the transition from emergency relief to sustainable development. It touches a variety of issues related to relief management in displacement situations such as civil-military relations, post-conflict disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration, children in conflict and child separation, displaced and host communities’ relations and issues of post-conflict reconstruction. It will also provide an overview of common public health problems in humanitarian emergencies and practices by aid agencies to respond to these. Academic Credit For an additional fee of £95, you can be entered for full Academic Credits for this course (20 Masters level credits). The academic credits are offered to provide choice and flexibility to all of our students and students who do not wish to do the assessments will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance. Critically analyse the origins, evolution, & response with recommendations regarding prevention/impact reduction in future similar circumstances.
