Read-It is a UKAID funded research and development grant that has a single key performance indicator:
Increased number of evidence-informed decisions by global, regional and national decision-makers that benefit the poor, including women
The READ-It Inception phase of the programme was from 15 May 2018 to 31 March 2019. Implementation of the Programme will follow through until March 2024.
Read-It represents continued support to the Evidence Ecosystem developed through the efforts of staff in Liverpool, Cape Town and Vellore over more than a decade. It maps on to Cochrane outputs and activities, plus work on dissemination, guidelines and policy development.
READ-It aims to get great systematic reviews done in important topics, relevant to public health and primary care, often tailored to Guideline processes in WHO or at country level.
The grant includes the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group in Liverpool, the Centre for Evidence-Based Policy in Cape Town; the University of Colombo; the TB Union in Delhi; the Campbell Collaboration in Delhi; the Cochrane Effective Practice and Organization of Care Group in Norway; and emerging collaboration with Research and Policy Institutions in Nepal.
READ-It is funded by UKaid from the UK Government Department for International Development.
