Research

LSTM has been at the forefront of research into infectious, debilitating and disabling diseases worldwide since 1898. Our research continues to improve the health of the world's poorest people, with a research portfolio well over £320 million.

Research

LSTM’s mission is to improve health outcomes in disadvantaged populations globally through partnership in research and education . We excel in translating leading academic research outputs into measurable benefits to health, and were ranked 2nd for research impact in the REF2021 exercise.  We recognise that how we do research is as important as the outputs of the research itself and our values illustrate our commitment to equitable partnerships, integrity and inclusivity in all we do.  Read more about our commitment to a positive research culture here.
