Capacity strengthening is a key component of our programme.
We aim to build research skills and competencies among health professionals and researchers in partner countries, as well as develop UK capacity and experience in global health research.
Our programme follows an iterative cycles, which includes:
1) identification of learning and training needs at individual and country basis
2) develop and adapt appropriate resources based on existing capacities and experiences
3) delivery of capacity development via diverse approaches
4) monitoring and evaluation to assess effectiveness and identify areas for ongoing development
Activities are delivered via a variety of approaches including:
- Induction for new staff
- Annual meetings
- In-country training and south-to-south support
- Remote training (increasingly important since COVID 19)
- Access to external resources eg. GCRF
