I studied at the University of Warwick, obtaining my Master’s degree in 2018 following a project investigating the use of bacteriophages as a potential therapy for neonatal meningitis. Following graduation, I spent a few years working for a forensics company before joining LSTM in 2021 under Thomas Edwards in the Diagnostics Group, where I undertook a project looking at using bacteriophages as a diagnostic tool.
I’ve now started by PhD on the MRC DTP, joining Christine Goffinet and her group. My research is focusing on alphaviruses and consists of two main arms, the first looking at alphaviral simultaneous infections and how the viruses interact with each other when in the same cell population. The second arm is investigating interactions between the viruses and the host cells, specifically attempting to identify host genes that are significant to alphaviral replication.
