My career path started with a PhD in infectious disease immunology, studying mechanisms of host macrophage resistance to the intracellular parasite Leishmania donovani. After gaining further postdoctoral experience in academia, I moved into industry to take on a commercial role as a scientist, then national business manager at an immunodiagnostics company.
After 10 years in the role, I developed skills in business development and a talent for recognising a commercial opportunity and seeing it through all stages of strategy development and implementation to the end objective of deal completion and wins for the organisation. My strengths are in commercial negotiations and driving industry engagement through innovative business development strategy and dynamic market landscaping.
My focus areas of interest are in establishing new commercial and strategic relationships for translational research and in promoting the research agenda of LSTM to external audiences.
