Graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 with a 2:1 BSc (Hons)/MSci in Parasitology and following this worked as a Research Technician for two years in the lab group of Prof Steven Sinkins at the MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research. My role involved establishing and maintaining Wolbachia-infected Aedes colonies and cell lines, used to investigate effects on Zika and dengue virus transmission.
In 2018 I spent several months travelling before returning to the UK and taking up my current position as Research Technician in the Vector Biology department. My role is divided between the insectary and lab, involving rearing of Anopheles mosquitoes and carrying out molecular and bacterial work for different projects.
