The Malaria in Pregnancy (MiP) Library(opens in a new tab), now available on WWARN, is the most comprehensive database of malaria in pregnancy available. The Library allows you to search published and unpublished literature free of charge.
The MiP Library(opens in a new tab) was launched in 2005 as an output of the LSTM led Malaria in Pregnancy Consortium.
WWARN and the MiP consortium have been working together since 2016 when they joined forces(opens in a new tab) to form the Malaria in Pregnancy Scientific Group(opens in a new tab) – a collaboration working towards a better understanding of the impact of malaria resistance on the effectiveness of current prevention strategies, and helping to ensure that all pregnant women with malaria receive safe and effective treatment.
The Library is updated every four months and provides a unique online resource for users to search for unpublished and published literature relating to malaria in pregnancy. Users can filter their search using several parameters, search in certain fields and search for several terms at once.
Dr Annemieke van Eijk(opens in a new tab), clinical epidemiologist at LSTM, who manages and updates the Library says “This easy-accessible source dedicated to malaria in pregnancy currently has close to 9400 entries. There is a straight-forward search function and search results can be combined and easily downloaded. We strongly encourage every student and researcher working on malaria in pregnancy to explore this source.”
