The Global Emergency Medicine Literature Review conducts an annual review of papers in International Emergency medicine to identify, review, and disseminate the most important new research in this field to a worldwide audience of academics and clinical practitioners.
4,818 papers were reviewed and scored and out of this list 224 were shortlisted. 28 received high scores for quality and importance in this field.
“The impact of emergency obstetric care training in Somaliland, Somalia,” a paper written by Dr Charles Ameh and Professor Nynke van den Broek for the Maternal and Newborn Health Unit at LSTM in conjunction with our local partners, Health Poverty Action and the Somaliland Nursing and Midwifery Association was selected as one of the top global emergency medicine articles of 2012 by the Global Emergency Medicine Review.
