LSTM’s Dr Lee Haines at Liverpool LASER, Tate Liverpool

Event 25 Jun 2018
101

LSTM’s Dr Lee Haines will be speaking at Liverpool LASER on the 4th July from 17:30 in the Clore Studio at Tate Liverpool.

LASER (Leonardo Art Science Evening Rendezvous) Talks is an international program of evening gatherings that bring artists and scientists together for informal presentations and conversations on art, science and technology.

Liverpool LASER will be asking the audience to consider:

•             What is the role of art in science, and science in art?

•             Do scientists and artists understand ‘experimentation’ and ‘creativity’ in the same way?

•             What is the difference between scientific and artistic ‘authorship’?

•             Both art and science contribute to our understanding of ourselves within the known universe, but does art also contribute to scientific knowledge? What might this knowledge look like?

This event is supporting the MA Art in Science takeover of Tate Exchange titled The Perception Machine. The Clore studio is adjacent to Tate Exchange and you will be invited to take part in The Perception Machine in Tate Exchange from 17:00-17:30 prior to the LASER.
