LSTM Seminar: 'CNTD: The impact of implementation'

Event 17 Nov 2017
80

CNTD’s LF Elimination Programme started in 2000 and forms part of WHO’s Global Programme to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis (GPELF). With funding from UKAid (DFID), The End Fund and Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), the LF Elimination Programme now supports national Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) programmes in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia to deliver treatments for LF through mass drug administration and provide care to those suffering from the disease.

CNTD provides technical support to countries to increase their capacity for NTD programme implementation, which includes carrying out research for the elimination strategy. CNTD also supports countries at the national, provincial and district levels to build capacity through training and mentorship and the development of skills in treatment, case detection, monitoring and evaluation as well as planning and budgeting as well as the developing and rolling out low cost tools for rapid real-time reporting and community based surveillance.

Dr Louise Kelly-Hope, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Operational Research, will present on behalf of the CNTD team and partners – highlighting the impact of implementation and operational research activities.
