A new website has been launched for the 5th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research which will take place in Liverpool in October 2018.
LSTM led the successful team that won the bid to host the biennial global conference, organised by Health Systems Global that will bring over 2,000 delegates to ACC Liverpool next year, generating more than £2.5 million in economic impact for the city region. The five-day symposium follows a successful symposium last year in Vancouver, Canada.
The theme of the symposium is Advancing Health Systems for All in the SDG Era and the website included an opportunity to register for the event and a call for abstracts, which opens in September this year. There will be a number of events and opportunities during the programme, which will be finalised in September, including themed satellite sessions, poster presentations, formal talks and a marketplace where exhibitors will have an opportunity to promote and share their work.
LSTM’s Professor Sally Theobald is a member of the LSTM led HSR2018 local organising committee. She said: “Organisation for the event is in full swing. The staging of the event in Liverpool reflects the very strong bid that we put together with our partners as well as the key research on health systems challenges being carried out here at LSTM. The launch of this new website will give people an opportunity to register and get involved in health policy and systems research.”
Health Systems Global is an international membership organisation fully dedicated to promoting health systems research and knowledge translation. Its fourth global symposium will be held from November 14-18this year in Vancouver, Canada and will focus on ‘resilient and responsive health systems for a changing world.’
