LSTM’s class of 2016 graduated this week at Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The graduating class of 72 MSc students, along with five PhD students and a graduate of a Postgraduate Diploma and another with a Postgraduate Certificate. While many of the class were present at the ceremony, those that were unable to attend graduated in absentia. Following the ceremony the students were invited, along with their family and friends to attend a lunch here at LSTM, giving them an opportunity to catch up with their classmates and tutors.
Following lunch, several awards across the MSc programmes were presented by LSTM’s Director of Education, Dr Sue Assinder.
Awards were presented to the following students:
Luke Hunt is awarded the Glen Williams prize for the student with the highest marks on the MSc in Tropical & Infectious Diseases.
Faye O’Halloran is awarded the Jervis prize for the student with the highest marks on the Tropical Disease Biology Masters programmes.
Clare Baker is awarded the John Hay prize for the student with the highest marks on the MSc in Tropical Paediatrics.
Deborah Sankey is awarded the Matthew Lukwiya prize for the student with the highest marked dissertation on the MSc in Tropical Paediatrics.
Roseanne Clarke is awarded the prize for the student with the highest marks on the Humanitarian Masters programmes.
Beate Ringwald (pictured with Dr Sue Assinder) is awarded the Debbie Quinney prize for the student with the highest marks on the MSc in International Public Health programmes.
In addition, Miguel Manuel Dorotan was awarded the David Smith prize for the student who contributed the most to the collective and team work of the students on the MSc programmes.
