Governance is exercised through the Board of Trustees and its committees, which are accountable to the Members of LSTM, who in turn answer to the Charity Commission.
The Board is made up of independent trustees, drawn from the fields of business, law, accountancy, politics, higher education and the public sector with both local and international experience.
Two trustees, including the Vice-Chancellor, are LSTM staff. Trustees work with management to evolve strategy and then monitor its implementation, which in turn remains the responsibility of the Vice-Chancellor and the management team.
There are a range of other committees at LSTM including:
- Equality and Diversity Committee. (Equalities performance is reported here).
- Research Ethics Committee
