Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be nationals of Sierra Leone or Tanzania who are also ordinarily domiciled in Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
- For students applying to study on the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene for September 2025 entry.
- Should have a conditional offer for the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Award Amount
One scholarship worth up to £14,000 is available which will include:
- Course Fees of £6,300
- Up to £2,000 towards return flights
- A total stipend of up to £5,700 to cover the cost of a UK Standard Visitor Visa, health insurance and living costs
Applications
Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form to be considered for this award. If you have already received an offer you will be sent a link to the live scholarship application form via email. If you are still to apply and receive your offer then you will find the link to the scholarship form in your Conditional Offer letter. The deadline to submit your application is 23:59 on Monday 30 June 2025.
In the Your Statement section of the scholarship application form you must demonstrate the following in a maximum of 700 words:
- That you are a Sierra Leonean or Tanzanian national who is ordinarily domiciled in Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
- Explain your academic or research goals in connection with the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
- Demonstrate clearly the impact your studies will have to support your career, reducing health inequality and providing leadership in Sierra Leone or Tanzania.
