The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) is delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s International Maternity Expo Awards. The awards are given to the ‘very finest examples of maternity care, research and best practice’. Three of CMNH’s staff are among the 46 nominees who have been shortlisted for 15 different award categories.
Hannah McCauley, Senior Research Associate (Midwifery) and Kirsty Lowe, Research Associate (Midwifery) at CMNH have been jointly shortlisted in the International Education Award category for their work to build the capacity of healthcare providers in antenatal and postnatal care in many low- and middle-income countries.

Dr Mary McCauley, Academic Clinical Lecturer at CMNH has been shortlisted for the Student and Trainee Award.
“I am thrilled to have been shortlisted for this award in recognition of my implementation research in many low- and middle-income countries to improve the health and wellbeing of women during and after pregnancy, whilst also working as a clinical doctor. Thank you to the organisers for shortlisting me and I am very much looking forward to attending the event in November.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in November 2019.
