Professor Steve Ward was inaugurated as the new Vice President of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (RSTMH) at their Annual General Meeting, held earlier this month. During the course of two year term of office, Professor Ward will work closely with the new President, Professor Peter Winstanley.
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (RSTMH) was founded in 1907 and its role is to promote and advance the study, control and prevention of disease in humans and other animals in the tropics. It plays a leading role in increasing awareness throughout the world of tropical medicine and international health issues.
Professor Ward says “This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Society and continue the excellent progress made in recent years. We will particularly focus on ways in which we can attract the best up and coming scientists to contribute to the Society’s activities”.
