LSTM has launched two new online courses as part of the wider expansion of its already expansive teaching portfolio.

Following the development of a unique and engaging delivery model that is deployed via the student led virtual learning environment Brightspace, the distance learning short courses enable LSTM’s expertise to be delivered flexibly, thereby engaging with students across the globe.

The courses: The Fundamentals of Tuberculosis (TB) and Travel vaccination: Principles and Practice  can be studied part time, allowing flexibility to those health professionals wishing to build upon their knowledge with input from some of the leaders in the field of tropical and travel medicine.

Michael Lurie, LSTM’s Director of International Education and Knowledge Exchange Initiatives, said: “LSTM is the oldest school of tropical medicine in the world, and the addition of these distance learning courses will enable us to further increase the positive impact of the institution in training health professionals by addressing some of the biggest problems in global health today. The online model allows flexible study whilst encouraging and supporting students via an online network and giving them access to the expertise that makes LSTM a global leader in the fight against infectious and tropical diseases.”

The courses are both due to go online in January 2017. You can learn more about as well as apply for these and all of the courses available at LSTM here.
