Radio Merseyside's Tony Snell spoke to LSTM’s Dr Ian Patterson, Post-doctoral Research Associate, on Radio Merseyside on Tuesday 23rd June.
Ian is a virologist whose previous experience involved handling Hazard Group 3 viruses. He briefly addressed the current 2m, and proposed 1m, social distancing guidelines. In addition he spoke about his work to get protocols in place to culture the COVID-19 virus and supply research groups at LSTM and the University of Liverpool with virus stocks, and train people in the virology techniques needed to get their work going.
