Hi everyone, I’m Clare Maher, Communications and Public Engagement Officer within LSTMs External Relations Team. I am currently working on several events as part of the LSTM-Past, Present, and Future project which is being funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
So, after a successful first event it was time for the evaluation and feedback. This is where we dissect the event and find out what we could have done better, what can we improve on next time, what went well and how we can make the next event even more successful.
While most of the crafts were a real hit with all ages, some of the more literary things we had on offer didn’t get used at all, we had some postcards that we were asking people to write home from an imaginary expedition, and no one filled one of these in. I think part of the reason was the table just wasn’t big enough for all the crafts we had brought along with us, which really is a great problem to have as it means at the next event we can have a bigger presence, depending on how many staff members we have available.
Another issue with the space I had was, again there just wasn’t enough of it (as you can see below), people were really wanting to take their time and produce something great, so this is something for us to consider at our next event.
So Mothers Day weekend there were no set ups, no crafting and no pastries, but I did have a lovely Mother's Day breakfast of bagel with poached egg and salmon, and a little tip from my colleague Gill Wareing meant I got the perfect poached egg, so thanks for that Gill!!
