The Capacity Project

Global, 2004-2009

The Capacity Project was a $250m five year global programme funded by USAID. The programme aimed to address the problem caused by insufficient human capacity in the health sector in the developing world – for example insufficient numbers of health workers, staff with inadequate qualifications or experience, or poor human resource planning and management. The programme was implemented by an international consortium led by Intrahealth International, with LATH as a key partner supporting the policy level component of the programme. A full time Senior Technical Adviser in workforce policy and planning was contracted by LATH to provide support to the programme. LATH's team of Human Resources experts also provided regular short term technical expertise to the programme.
