Joy Gilroy joined LSTM in October 2018 working as a Project Administrator across two projects, STREAM and IMPACT TB, within the Clinical Sciences Department. After the IMPACT TB project phase one was completed, Joy was appointed Project Administrator for The LIGHT Consortium funded with UK aid from the UK government. This consortium is led by LSTM and working with partners in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Nigeria to transform gendered pathways to health for tuberculosis. Since November 2022, Joy expanded her role to include communications activities and is now the Programme Administrator & Communications Officer for LIGHT.
She obtained her BA(Hons) degree in Humanities from the University of Hertfordshire and had worked extensively in the travel industry for most of her career. Previous roles include Sales & Marketing Coordinator for Emirates Airline in London and a Travel Account Manager with a global corporate Travel Management Company.
