Dr Laure Bosquillon de Jarcy

Guest Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Laure Bosquillon de Jarcy is a dedicated clinician-scientist with a robust background in infectious diseases, virology and immunology, particularly in the context of emerging pathogens. Currently a Fellow in the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) Clinician Scientist Program since January 2023, she is engaged in translational medicine, bridging clinical practice and basic research.

Laure is a Guest Postdoctoral Researcher at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, focusing on the tropism of the monkeypox virus (MPXV) in human primary cells. Previously, she conducted postdoctoral research at the Charité Institute of Virology in Berlin from 2020 to 2023. Her research focused on innate immunity during SARS-CoV-2 infection and the latency and reactivation of HIV-1 in the context of co-infection with SARS-CoV-2.

With an anticipated board examination for internal medicine in 2025, Laure progresses through her clinical training at Charité University Hospital Berlin in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.

Through her experience in basic science and clinical medicine, Laure aims to contribute to a better understanding of emerging viral infections, clarify pathogenetic mechanisms, and pave the way for clinically relevant therapeutic options.
