I am a postgraduate chemistry student and recently completed my PhD thesis as part of the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicine at the University of Nottingham, School of Pharmacy. My PhD was multidisciplinary including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and formulation. My research focused on the synthesis and formulation of antitumour benzothiazoles within apoferritin, to enhance solubility and tumour targeting. Prior to my time at the University of Nottingham, I studied for my MChem at the University of York between 2007 and 2011.
Working mainly in the University of Liverpool Chemistry department I will be developing new hybrid antituberculosis drugs targeting latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
