United Nations High Level Meetings
IMPALA’s engagement with UN HLMs and the preparatory work leading up to them is highlighted below.
April 2019
IMPALA’s Jahangir Khan and Uzochukwu Egere attended an interactive multi-stakeholder hearing on 29th April 2019 at the United Nations in New York, in preparation for the UN General Assembly high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage (UN HLM-UC), taking place later in the year.
June 2018
In preparation for the UN High Level meeting on TB (UN HLM-TB), seven members of the UK Academics & Professionals to End TB network (UKAPTB) attended the interactive civil society meeting on 4 June 2018 at UN headquarters in New York. UKAPTB attendees included IMPALA’s Bertie Squire and Irene Ayakaka.
June 2018
A Backbench Business Committee debate on ending tuberculosis took place in the House of Commons on 7th June 2018. The debate was led by Hon Nick Herbert as a precursor to a UN High Level meeting on TB (UN HLM-TB) to be held later in the year, and special mention was given to the IMPALA programme.
