PATS’ involvement in IMPALA is crucial in the development of our Unit’s training programmes. We work with PATS to run three one-week workshops of PATS Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical and Operations Research (PATS-MECOR) every year. PATS-MECOR is designed for pulmonary clinicians, investigators, and academicians to provide training in research methods.
PATS is a respiratory society made up of healthcare professionals from across the continent and beyond. PATS aims to promote lung health in Africa, the continent most afflicted by morbidity and death from respiratory diseases, by promoting education, research, advocacy, optimal care and the development of African capacity to address respiratory challenges in the continent.
