This scheme is provided to applicants who meet the academic entry requirements for LSTM programmes and who may not have a current or existing English language qualification however the Admissions team have indicated may be eligible to gain admission to their chosen programme under this scheme by virtue of either their educational background or professional work experience.
Please note that this waiver scheme is suitable for all Diplomas, short courses (non-credit bearing) and MSc Global Health.
Completion of this application form does not guarantee an English language waiver and we reserve the right to include English language as a condition of an offer where we feel it is appropriate.
You can apply for an English language waiver on the basis of your educational background or your professional work experience. Below you will find the assessment criteria you must fulfil for each category. All criteria points must be met within the relevant category 1 or 2 or 3.

Category 2 - Education criteria (University):
Previous or current degree level course that meets all of the following criteria:
a) Full time;
b) At least nine months in length;
c) Undertaken at a recognised institution where the medium of instruction and assessment throughout the course is entirely in English;
d) Completed within 5 years of the start date of the course to which you are applying;
Category 3 - Work criteria:
Substantial professional experience meeting all of the following criteria:
a) Have been for a minimum 2 years in a majority English speaking country (countries are specified in the link) where the main language for the role was English;
b) Have been in a role involving daily professional use of each of the four language components (reading, writing, speaking, listening);
c) Have been working in a sufficiently technical context to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in an academic environment – and –
d) Have left that role no more than 2 years before the start date of the course to which you are applying.
