LSTM’s Research Centre for Drugs and Diagnostics (RCDD) today welcome industry partners from Janssen Pharmaceutica, with representatives from both the UK and USA.
The visitors met with Professors Steve Ward and Giancarlo Biagini along with Professor Paul O'Neil from the University of Liverpool’s (UoL) Department of Chemistry with the aim of drug discovery collaborative projects for the treatment of multi drug resistant tuberculosis. There were a number of short scientific presentations followed by discussions and a tour of the laboratory facilities both at LSTM and UoL’s Department of Chemistry.
LSTM’s Professor Biagini said: “We are glad to welcome Janssen to visit us here at LSTM. We have a long history of industry engagement in translational medicine and it was always our objective in RCDD to facilitate collaboration with a range of academic and industry partners in order to develop new and effective treatments and diagnostics for global health.
RCDD comprises an experienced multi-disciplinary group of experts working together and in a number of partnerships to discover, develop and deliver novel therapies and diagnostics against a range of pathogens. With access to LSTM’s state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment RCDD offers flexible models of collaboration from open access to commercial service provision.
