Seminar: Clinical Trials & Tuberculosis: Opportunity to Advance Social Justice?

The LIV-TB working group kindly invites interested parties to a seminar by Associate Professor, Dr Carole Mitnick, of the Departemnt of Global Health and Social Medicine of Harvard Medical School, USA.

Dr Mitnick received both her ScM and ScD in International Health Epidemiology and Ecology from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. She began working with Partners In Health in 1996.Her primary research centers on clinical outcomes research on multidrugresistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), particularly in resource-poor communities. Current projects involve evaluating treatment protocols using novel analytic approaches, performing clinical trials of MDR-TB, working to identify surrogate endpoints for MDR-TB therapy and assessing the effect of quality improvement initiatives on TB treatment outcomes. She consults for the Green Light Committee of the World Health Organization, was a founder of the RESIST-TB collaboration and co-ordinates the endTB initiative.
