Poverty and health are linked.
The COVID-19 pandemic has provided the ‘perfect storm' in Liverpool, exposing and exacerbating existing inequalities. The Liverpool Vaccine Equity Project builds on the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine’s experiences of tackling health inequity in the Global South and uses COVID-19 vaccination as a lens. Our community-led approach aims to reduce vaccine inequity through understanding and tackling COVID vaccine hesitancy using local data to find local solutions. This inner city pilot project has been designed to underpin future research and approaches to health equity in the wider Liverpool City region.
