LSTM research staff and students have launched a monthly podcast highlighting some of the work being carried out at LSTM. In this first edition PhD student Kayla Barnes interviews Professor Paul Garner about his work as the head of the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group, which has worked for twenty years preparing systematic reviews on the benefits and harms of healthcare interventions for infectious diseases.

PhD student Chris Spencer interviews Professor Steve Torr about his research into Human African Trypanosomiasis, or sleeping sickness, including the changing behaviour of the tsetse fly and looking at the potential future areas of research.

The podcast is introduced and edited by the research assistant Leigh Bowman, who, like the others, is studying for a PhD within the Department of Vector Biology.

The podcast is available here and the second edition will be available at the start of April.
