LSTM ranked in UK’s top five for postgraduate student experience for the third consecutive year

LSTM ranks second in UK for postgraduate student experience in 2026

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine has reinforced its position as one of the UK’s leading postgraduate institutions after being ranked 2nd overall in the 2026 Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), marking its third consecutive year in the national top five.

The result follows LSTM’s number one national ranking in 2025, demonstrating our sustained commitment to delivering an exceptional postgraduate student experience.

PTES is the UK’s largest independent survey of postgraduate taught students. The survey is coordinated annually by Advance HE, gathering feedback on every aspect of the student experience, from teaching and assessment to learning resources, academic support and community.

LSTM’s 2026 PTES results

LSTM achieved outstanding results across multiple categories, including:

• 2nd overall out of 105 participating institutions
• 1st for Student Support
• 1st for Online Learning Resources
• 1st for Dissertation
• 2nd for Teaching
• 2nd for Student Engagement
• 2nd for On-campus Resources

The survey also highlighted the strength of LSTM’s student experience across diverse groups, with the institution ranked 1st nationally for overseas students.
