Board of Trustees

Our Board of Trustees is responsible for the governance of LSTM.

Our independent trustees have extensive experience across business, law, finance, politics, higher education and the public sector, in the UK and internationally. Two trustees, including the Vice-Chancellor, are members of LSTM staff.

The Board works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to shape LSTM’s strategy and oversee its delivery. Day-to-day implementation remains the responsibility of the Vice-Chancellor and Senior Leadership Team.

The Board reports to both the Office for Students who is the primary independent regulator for higher education in England as well as the Charity Commission. In addition to operating within it its charitable objectives, it ensures LSTM complies with legal and regulatory requirements, maintains financial sustainability and has appropriate systems of risk management and internal control.

LSTM is accountable to stakeholders such as funders, students, staff, research participants, partners/collaborators as well as the wider public to deliver public benefit.
