Biography
Russell Dacombe is an experienced international researcher and consultant specialising in diagnostic systems, policy and regulation development and implementation in developing countries. He specialises in the diagnostic aspects of anti-microbial resistance, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical disease control, and capacity building of laboratory organisations. Russell is experienced in the design, delivery and evaluation of workshops and courses to post graduate degree level and has experience in policy and strategic planning development and implementation.Β
Research interests
Russell has research interests in laboratory capacity strengthening and policy implementation. He is also interested in antimicrobial resistance, especially intersecting with gender and equity and the implementation of diagnostics for a wide range of infectious diseases.Β
Teaching
Russell is the Co- Director of the Global Health programme at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and also module lead for health protection and promotion. He contributes to the microbiology and policy teaching across the majority of taught programmes at LSTM.Β
