Biography

Fraser has been a research technician in the vector department for over six years, focusing on transgenic functional confirmation in anopheles malarial mosquitoes. He obtained a BSc from Queen’s University Belfast in Microbiology and a MSc in Molecular Biology of Parasites and Disease Vectors from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

His work primarily consists of producing and maintaining genetically modified populations of anopheles mosquitoes as well as performing characterisation work on them. Fraser also supervises undergraduate students and assists PhD students working with his group.
