Preventable and treatable diseases such as TB, HIV, malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are still rife across many low-income countries. As a physician, you can develop your knowledge and understanding of tropical medicine and hygiene and become part of the solution โ€“ supporting the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases, educating communities to help prevent them and enabling people, and countries, to thrive.

If you are a physician who has trained in medicine in a developed country who wants to practice in the tropics or you need to diagnose and manage imported infections, or you are already practicing in a developing country but want to update your knowledge in infectious, parasitic and other health problems then join our online information session to find out more about how our Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene can support your goals.

The intensive three-month, full-time professional course adopts a balanced approach to tropical medicine and hygiene with three core themes covering:

Clinical tropical medicine, including maternal, newborn and child health.

Tropical disease biology, including parasitology, microbiology and vector biology.

Public health and disease control include outbreak management in low- and middle-income countries.

Presented by the Co-Directors of the course, Dr Sylviane Defres and Rocio Villacorta Linaza, they will explain how the diploma will support you in developing your professional knowledge and skills, broaden your outlook and prepare you to confidently manage health programmes in challenging settings while having a positive impact on the health, wellbeing and prosperity of our poorest populations.
