Global partnerships and collaborations
LSTM works in partnership with organisations worldwide to improve health, strengthen systems and deliver lasting change.
Our collaborations bring together expertise, resources and a shared commitment to tackling the most pressing global health challenges. Through membership of international networks and professional associations we are furthering our reach and strengthening our impact around the world.
Equitable partnerships
At the centre of our partnerships strategy is our commitment to equitable partnerships and capacity strengthening.
As a global organisation with a long history working in Low- and Middle-Income countries we recognise our role in shifting the power balance between North and South to recognise the knowledge, expertise and impact of health practitioners and leaders across the globe.Â
Global hubs
Working with three core partnership hubs in Africa LSTM is supporting training, research, and capacity strengthening in global health. Underpinned by the principles of equity and shared leadership, we are jointly committed to delivering research-informed education and impact to expand scientific capability and capacity.

Climate and Health Africa Conference
Partners at the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research in Zimbabwe convened the first Climate and Health Africa Conference in October 2024; bringing together over 400 health leaders and delegates from across 30 African nations, to discuss how to combat the detrimental health effects of climate change and improve the well-being of African populations. The landmark event led to the Harare Declaration on Climate and Health in Africa, a continent-wide framework for research and action.
