The course content is informed by organisations that deploy nurses to humanitarian settings and low-and middle-income countries, and mirrors issues they face on the ground, including working in fragile health systems, outbreak management and delivering sexual and reproductive health interventions.

The Professional Diploma in Tropical Nursing will have 200 learning hours and can be studied asynchronously, so students can work through the learning content at their own pace. There will also be virtual touchpoints throughout the course to meet experts in live sessions.

Assessment of the course will be through two assignments.

  • Cultural and ethical issues.
  • Basic laboratory tests and interpretation of results.

The Diploma in Tropical Nursing will prepare you for practice in low- and middle-income countries, working for NGOs, international organisations and aid agencies supporting communities through humanitarian crises.
