Miss Emma Elliott

Biography

Emma Elliott is a Research Technician in the Enzyme Characterisation Group within theDepartmen of Vector Biology at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM).Β 

She graduated from The Open University with a BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences in 2020. She also completed the course Improving Healthcare Through Clinical Research with the University of Leeds and National Institute for Health and Care Research.

Prior to starting at LSTM, she worked in a United Kingdom Accreditation Service lab using analytical techniques such as high-perfomance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, mainly working on dose-formulation analysis from Clinical Research Organisations sample testing as well as Validation analysis and method development. She also worked at a Nutritional and Pharmaceutical Industry as a Quality Control Technician, carrying out routine quality control testing.Β 

Her current role at LSTM involves routine-testing using high-performance liquid chromatography analysis for the development of vector control products containing novel insecticeds to target pyrethroid-resistant mosquito popultations, therefore contributing directly to the front line of vector control.Β 

Teaching

Emma has supervised and trained analysts on high-performance liquid chromatography, including troubleshooting.Β
