Biography
Xiaohan Xu is a PhD student in Global Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, specialising in statistical analysis, clinical trials, and evidence synthesis. Previously, she was part of the National Key R&D Program of China, focusing on diabetes epidemiology and clinical research. She also investigated the gut-incretin axis in clinical trials at the University of Adelaide.
Beyond research, Xiaohan engages in mentoring, academic collaboration and conference presentations, and has shared findings at the International Diabetes Federation and the International Congress on Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome. Additionally, she contributed to the Chinese edition of Endocrinology Adult & Paediatric, published in 2022.Â
Research interests
Xiaohan’s research interests include diabetes and its complications, endocrinology, metabolism, obesity, and nutrition. She is focused on understanding the metabolic and hormonal mechanisms underlying disease progression and developing strategies for prevention and treatment.
Xiaohan integrates statistical analysis, mechanistic studies, and clinical trials to explore disease risk factors and therapeutic targets. Her goal is to translate research findings into clinical applications and public health interventions, contributing to better prevention and management of metabolic disorders globally.
