Biography
Lauren McLellan has over 10 yearsβ experience working within clinical research, beginning her career as a data manager overseeing highly complex Phase 3 and Phase 4 paediatric oncology trials, before progressing into project management.

In her current role as a Project Officer at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), she manages the day-to-day operations of diverse trials, including Phase I vaccine trials, controlled human infection model studies and commercial clinical trials, ensuring compliance with good clinical practice and regulatory standards.

Lauren has led a multicentre study involving primary, secondary, and tertiary care sites aiming to establish the prevalence of respiratory syncytial virus in infants and young children to help mandate a national vaccine rollout.

With a strong background in stakeholder management, risk mitigation and quality assurance, she works closely with clinical sites and study sponsors to ensure efficient, ethical trial conduct and high-quality trial conduct.

Research interests
Lauren has a strong interest in paediatric oncology research and is committed to advancing medical science in this field. She is passionate about contributing to research that focuses on improving treatment outcomes and promoting health equality for people living in low- and middle-income countries.

Her goal is to foster future collaborations with global stakeholders to enhance treatment accessibility and knowledge sharing within low- and middle-income countries. By facilitating high-quality, ethical, and efficient clinical trials, she hopes to overcome geographic and economic barriers to medical advancements.
