Research Technician

Background

I gained a BSc (Hons) Biology degree in 2009 from LJMU.

2009 – 2011. As a Senior Manufacturing Technician within the Molecular Biology Department for Life Technologies, I worked to strict SOPs using GLP/ISO9001 for the formulation, subsequent QC testing and analysis of products for the forensic, food and pharmaceutical industries. 

2011 – Present: At LSTM I am part of the Vector Biology Department working as the Research Technician for Professor Martin Donnelly and Dr David Weetman. I provide technical assistance to visiting students and staff as well as assisting the Post-Docs in identifying and characterizing insecticide resistance mechanisms in insect disease vectorsfrom Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Subcontinent.
