A qualified chartered accountant, Jeremy has a background in manufacturing, international trade and agriculture. He was MP for Stafford between 2010 and 2019.
While in Parliament, he was a member of the International Development Committee (2010-2017), the Exiting the EU Committee (2016-2019) and the Joint Human Rights Committee (2015-2019). He also chaired the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, Tanzania, Kenya and DR Congo. Internationally, he chaired the Board of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF (2013-2019).
He has spent most of his working life in the coffee and cocoa industries, working in particular with smallholder farmers. He and Janet, a doctor, lived in Tanzania from 1989-2000 where they saw at first hand the devastating impact of tropical diseases."
