Maitama District Hospital was created in 2001 alongside other district hospitals to improve health services for the teaming population of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. An average 120-170 neonates are admitted into the unit annually.
The unit has 8 cots, 4 incubators and a nearby mother’s room.
It is manned by three Paediatricians/Neonatologists, 2 Medical Officers, 2-3 Nurses at each duty schedule and other support staff.
