I studied medicine at Lancaster University and completed a Master’s degree in Biology and Control of Parasites and Disease Vectors at LSTM, undertaking a research project in lymphatic filariasis in rural Malawi. I subsequently moved to start medical training in the academic foundation programme at Royal Liverpool University Hospitals which included a research module working with the clinical sciences department at LSTM with the Experimental Human Pneumococcal Carriage collaboration. In 2016 I completed a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and have subsequently worked as a medical doctor in Blantyre, Malawi and in the northern territory of Australia. I am currently working as a doctor in Melbourne Australia and continue to work on a systematic review and meta-analysis of pneumococcal carriage in the elderly.
